Kia Carens Launched in India 2021: Check Out the Price, Variants, and Specs

After the Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet, Carens will be Kia’s fourth product in India. In the company’s lineup, it will be sandwiched between Seltos and Carnival. The South Korean automaker will be hoping for a similar level of success with Carens as it has with its previous models. Kia Carens will compete with the Toyota Innova Crysta, Hyundai Alcazar, facelifted Maruti XL6, and Mahindra Marazzo when it debuts.

Carens is classified as a recreation vehicle’ under Kia’s definition. In terms of practicality, however, it’s practically an MPV. Carens boasts dual-beam LED projector headlights with integrated Y-shaped LED DRLs, chrome strip accent, substantial air dam with chrome surround, hefty front bumper, and flat bonnet, all of which are SUV-inspired.

Kia Carens engine and specifications

The powertrain options from the Kia Seltos will be borrowed by Carens. A 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine will be available. The petrol engine produces 140 horsepower and 242 Nm of peak torque. It will be connected to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a DCT automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 115 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions are available.

The sculpted door panels, body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn signals, chrome door handles, blacked-out A, B, and C pillars, sporty dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and thick body cladding make the side profile stand out. The MPV boasts a rugged-styled rear bumper and T-shaped wraparound LED tail lamps. The tail lamps are connected by a thin LED strip, which adds to the MPV’s athletic appearance.


Carens will have beautiful and large interiors, according to the business. The emphasis will be on maximizing comfort and convenience. The interior design theme will strive for a perfect blend of minimalism styling and contemporary elements. Carens will most likely be offered in both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations.

Kia Carens Variants

The Kia Carens will be available in a variety of trim levels, including L, LX, EX, EX+, TX, and TX+, according to eDrivehelp. Trims will be created from some of these versions. L: HTP / HTM, LX: Premium, EX: Prestige, EX+: Prestige+, TX: Luxury, and TX+: Luxury+ are the top-of-the-line models.

Display and Other Features

The top-of-the-line Carens will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The UVO connection package will also provide a number of internet-connected smart functions. Stolen vehicle monitoring and immobilization, geofence alert, remote access, AI-assisted voice commands, find my car, vehicle health report, and maintenance alert are just a few of the essential networking capabilities.

Wireless smartphone charging, a sunroof, and a computerized instrument cluster are among the other notable features. The MPV will have rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, and a 360-degree camera for safety. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) functions may also be available.

Kia Carens Price in India

On December 16, 2021, the Kia Carens will be introduced. The launch is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2022. It is likely to cost between Rs 15 and Rs 20 lakh.
